Dioctyl Terephthalate
Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is an organic compound with the molecular formula C24H38O4. It is a transparent oily liquid that is insoluble in water but soluble in common organic solvents .
1.DOTP has excellent electrical and thermal properties. It can replace DOP in PVC plastic electrical wire sheaths and can also be used in the production of artificial leather films.
2. DOTP is used in PVC products in cars, which can solve the problem of fogging on glass windows. DOTP is also used in paints and coatings for high-end furniture and interior decoration, as well as in high-quality lubricants or lubrication additives for precision instruments, nitro varnish additives, paper softeners, biaxially oriented polyester films, molded plastic handicrafts, plasma storage bags, etc.
3. Due to the linear molecular structure of DOTP being similar to that of DOS and DOA, its cold resistance is also better.
4. The volume resistivity of DOTP is 10-20 times higher than that of DOP, and it also has excellent resistance to migration.
5. Since DOTP does not contain phthalates and is not within the 16 types of phthalate plasticizers restricted in the EU and other countries, it is an excellent environmentally friendly plasticizer.
