                                                              Dibutyl phthalate

Dibutyl phthalate, abbreviated as DBP, has the chemical formula CusHzO4 and a molecular weight of 278.34. It is a colorless, transparent oily liquid with a slight aromatic odor. It is insoluble in water but readily soluble in most organic solvents.

This product is mainly used as the primary plasticizer for cellulose resins and polyvinyl chloride, and is particularly suitable for nitrocellulose coatings. It features excellent solubility, dispersibility and adhesion. The softness and stability of the produced paint film are also good, but its flame retardancy and durability are relatively poor. The general dosage in paint is 10% to 60%. This product has good compatibility with pigments and can be used to color films, artificial leather and plastic products. It can be used as a plasticizer and softener for both natural and synthetic rubber, and can enhance the resilience of products.
