Dioctyl Adipate
Dioctyl adipate (DOA) is a colorless transparent oily liquid. Its chemical formula is C22H44O4, with a molecular weight of 370.57. The relative density at 25°C is 0.922, the refractive index is 1.4474, the boiling point is 214°C, the flash point is 196°C, the melting point is -67.8°C, the refractive index at 20°C is 1.4474, and the viscosity at 20°C is 13.7 mPa.S. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in methanol, ethanol, ether, acetone, acetic acid, chloroform, ethyl acetate, gasoline, benzene, mineral oil, vegetable oil, etc. It is slightly soluble in ethylene glycol.
DOA is a typical cold-resistant plasticizer. This product has high plasticizing efficiency and high plasticizing efficiency at high temperatures, with low color changeability upon heating. It is suitable for various resins such as polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride copolymers, polystyrene, and synthetic rubber. It can give products good low-temperature softness and light resistance, and the hand feel of the products is good. It is often used in combination with main plasticizers like DOP and DBP, and is applied in cold-resistant agricultural films, frozen food packaging films, cable coating layers, artificial leather, sheets, outdoor water pipes, etc.
